January 27, 2021 is Family Literacy Day and the Temiskaming Shores Public Library has some fun and active ideas for you to celebrate with at home! Literacy activities don’t have to feel like homework. Between January 18 and 30, call us and reserve a time to drop by and pick up an activity bag with some fun ideas (we’ve even included some that are COVID-19 approved!), such as simple recipes from another culture, charade cards, word scrambles, word finds, simple science experiments and colour by number pages. If you’d like, and you have a library membership, we could also gather some books and games for you, so long as you’ve let us know in advance so we can place holds/reservations on the items. This year’s Family Literacy Day theme is Travel the world together. You never know what you’ll learn! Plan your dream trip, learn about another culture and open your mind to the world.
